Monthly Board Highlights - March 2017

If you were unable to attend the March 7, 2017 Board of Trustees meeting, here are some of the actions that took place:

Chancellor Parnell administered the oath of office to Ernesto Duran, new student trustee from Reedley College.

There were several introductions:

  1. The 2016 State Championship Reedley College Men’s Golf Team
  2. Students from the Reedley Middle College High School
  3. Students from the enology and flight science programs at Reedley College

The Board had its first read of the following:

  1. Clovis Community College Educational Master Plan
  2. Proposed Revised Board Policy 2015, “Student Member”
  3. Proposed Revised Board Policy 2105, “Election of Student Members”

Police Chief Jose Flores gave an update on the SCCCD Police Department.

Associate Vice Chancellor Christine Miktarian gave a presentation on Capital Construction Projects and an Update on Bond Measures C and E.

The Board adopted the following:

  • PMSM Architect as architect for facility planning services, Fresno City College
  • Darden Architects as architect for Math, Science and Engineering Expansion project, Reedley College
  • Teter, LLP, as architect for Center for Advanced Manufacturing Building Expansion, Madera Community College Center
  • Board Policy 1200, “District Mission, Vision, and Values”
  • Resolution no. 2017.02 approving solar power purchase agreement with ForeFront Power.
