Approved the following:

  • Academic Personnel Transactions with the following new hires added:
    • Marie Harris – Vice President Learning & Student Success at Madera Community College Center
    • Jaime Duran- Director, Veterans Resource Center at Fresno City College
    • Sonia Duarte- Nursing Instructor at Fresno City College
  • Classified Personnel Transactions with one correction, Dee Calvin is at Madera Community College Center and not the District Office
  • The nomination of Trustee Bobby Kahn for the ACCT Trustee Leadership Award
  • Summer 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 Curriculum proposals
  • Madera Community College Center Program/Course Inventory Transfer and Summer 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 MCCC Curriculum proposals
  • Madera County School Boards Association 2020-2021 proposed budget
  • Districtwide $988,070 four-year agreement for Hobson's Starfish
  • Tabled an agreement with Credentials Solutions for purchasing Parking permits online

Held Public Hearing & Ratified:

A Tentative Agreement between the District and California School Employees Association and its State Center Chapter #379 regarding two permanent CalProNet employees who will be transferred into vacant positions in the District.

Adopted:

  • Proposed 2020-2021 Tentative Budget
  • Resolution No. 2020.21, Establishment of an Appropriations (GANN) Limit for the 2020-21 fiscal year, which sets the appropriations limit for the district at $336,187,819
  • Resolution 2020.18, Addendum to the mitigated negative declaration for the FCC parking and facilities expansion project
  • Resolution 2020.14, Notice of Intention to Convey Easement to Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District Easement at FCC new parking structure
  • Resolution 2020.16, Notice of Intention to convey temporary construction easement to the City of Fresno at Clovis Community College
  • Resolution 2020.23, Supporting Senator Hurtado’s bill providing access to workforce training programs
  • Resolution 2020.24, Supporting Senator Hurtado’s bill for a California Medicine Scholar program
  • Resolution 2020.22, Order of Election and Specifications of the Election Order to be submitted to the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools and County Elections Office

Grant Agreements

  • Fresno City College, Reedley College, and Clovis Community College received $18,339,774 in a CARES Act grant to provide emergency financial aid grants to students and up to 50 percent of the funds to cover any costs associated with the significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus.
  • Reedley College has received a $340,192 renewal Workability III Program grant from the CA Dept of Rehabilitation to expand job placement services available to disabled students
  • Fresno City College, Reedley College, and Clovis Community College received a $400,000 renewal CalWORKs agreement with the County of Fresno to provide continued educational counseling services to all referred CalWORKs and Welfare-to-Work students.
  • Fresno City College in partnership with WestCare has received a new $1,988,205 (over 5 years) agreement from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This will provide annually an additional 100 Foster Youth educational services to increase retention and completion outcomes over the term of the project and expand the student's access to mental health services to reduce homelessness.
  • Fresno City College has received a $160,000 (over two years) renewal agreement from the Office of Statewide Health and Planning Development. The funding will be used to support the instructional and administrative costs of the Associate Degree Nursing program and will allow eight nursing students to enroll in the two-year program starting with the fall semester.
