Board Meeting Notes February 2, 2021
If you were unable to attend the February 2, 2021 Board of Trustees meeting, here are some of the actions that took place.
The Special Board Meeting was devoted to Guided Pathways in State Center Community College District. Co-Chairs Vice Chancellor Jerome Countee and Reedley College Vice-President Renee Craig-Marius were joined by the Guided Pathway leads at each of the colleges:

In the Regular Board Meeting, the Board heard the following reports and presentations:
- College Presidents’ Reports (written)
- Academic Senate Report by Cynthia Elliott (written)
- Classified Senate Report by Caryss Johnson (written)
- Budget Update by Vice Chancellor Cheryl Sullivan
- Legislative Update by Lucy Ruiz
- Competency Based Education by Dr. Angel Reyna and Office Technology Instructor Juan Alvarez
- First Read of 2020-2024 SCCCD Strategic Plan by Vice Chancellor Jerome Countee
- Chancellor’s Search Process by Vice Chancellor Julianna Mosier & Board Ad Hoc Committee
The Board heard the Ad Hoc Committee’s recommendation for the Chancellor search process which is to appoint an interim Chancellor for approximately one year and appoint an executive search firm to facilitate the Chancellor search. The Ad Hoc Committee will meet to further discuss the comments and feedback provided by the Board and determine how to move forward.

Tentative Agreement, State Center Federation of Teachers AFT Local 1533
Approved the following:
- Academic Personnel Transactions as presented
- Classified Personnel Transactions as presented including hiring Benny Seaberry as the District Chief Technology Officer and Michele Corbett as the Director of Marketing & Communications at MCC. Cassandra Wilkinson is the provisional executive assistant hire in the Chancellor’s office for the retiring Barbara Martin
- Summer/Fall 2021 Schedule of Instructional Material Fees, Districtwide
- Dual Enrollment courses with Fresno City College for spring and fall 2021
- Dual Enrollment courses with Reedley College
- 2021-2022 tuition raise of $10 for nonresident students
Adopted
- Resolution 2021.04, Authorizing Budget Transfers and Adjustments – December 31, 2020
- Resolution 2021.06, Extension of COVID-19 Leave Benefits

Approved the following Grant Agreements:
Reedley College has received a new $6,900 agreement from Yosemite Community College District for the Child Development Training Consortium. The funding will provide payments for students seeking a new or maintaining a currently held Child Development Permit in the amount of $46.00 per unit (maximum 150 units).
Clovis Community College has received a new agreement from The Foundation for California Community Colleges. The Finish Live Scholars Program funding is made available from the Jay Pritzker Foundation. The funding will provide emergency financial aid to support students experiencing financial hardship.
Clovis Community College has received a new $590,000 agreement from California State University, Fresno Foundation. The funding is made available from the Governor's Office of Planning and Research. The Fresno K16 Collaborative Project – Education Pathway funding will provide resources to implement innovative educational strategies and demonstrate intersegmental collaboration by aligning secondary and postsecondary programs, reduce achievement gaps, and create a multi-generation culture of educational attainment.
Closed Session
The Board of Trustees unanimously took action to non-renew a dean.
