Grant Agreements:
- Fresno City College has been notified of an intent to award a $190,000 Rising Scholars Network grant from the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office. The goal of the proposed program is to continue and expand the services it currently provides to formerly incarcerated students. The funding will enable the college to hire a full-time counselor to coordinate key services, including academic counseling, navigational support, and peer-mentoring.
- State Center Community College District and Reedley College, in partnership with California Tribal Emergency Response and Relief Agency has been notified of an intent to award a $500,000 California Apprenticeship Initiative- California Tribal Environmental and Cultural Equitable Vocational Training grant from the California Community College Chancellor's Office. The goal of the proposed program is to train at least 25 apprentices with a focus on Native American students in fire prevention and restoration practices. The funding will provide apprentices living in impoverished tribal communities with Environmental Services and Prevention and Cultural Monitor training, apprenticeships, and student support services. This grant requires a 20% match, which will be provided as in-kind funding from CalTERRA. The funding will be received over three years.
- State Center Community College District on behalf of the International Education Office has been notified of an intent to award A $3,000 grant from the California Colleges for International Education. The funding will provide six professional development stipends for faculty participating in the Global Entrepreneurship Exchange Program.
- Clovis Community College has received a $150,000 renewal agreement from The Foundation for California Community Colleges. The funding is made available from the Jay Pritzker Foundation. The funding will allow the college to continue the CCC Finish Lines Scholars Program, which provides scholarships and emergency financial aid to help students overcome the short-term financial barriers that may prevent them from the beginning or staying enrolled in community college.
- Fresno City College has received a $400,000 Song Brown Health Care Workforce Training Act renewal agreement from the California Department of Health Care Access and Information. The purpose of this grant is to fund institutions to assist in training students in registered nursing shortage areas and place graduates of the program to provide healthcare in California's medically underserved areas. This grant covers administrative and instructional services for the Nursing department. The funding will be received over two years.

Following closed session, the Board reports as follows:
On April 5, 2022, the Board of Trustees of the State Center Community College District, unanimously took action to terminate a permanent Police Communications Dispatcher. The time allotted for the employee to appeal the decision has passed. The Board’s action has now become final.
