Why study Social Science at CCC
As a student of social science at Clovis Community College, you will gain a broad-based understanding of society and how humans function together and with their natural environment. Social science focuses on the study of various systems created by humans and the effects those systems have on each other and with the natural world. It is a holistic discipline and includes studies from anthropology, history, sociology, psychology, geography, and political science. You may pursue a degree in social science to pursue a career in teaching or to prepare for or supplement your studies in the various disciplines of the social sciences.

We provide a broad, holistic understanding of the systems affecting society. We aim to help our students become engaged and empathetic citizens who are both critical thinkers and effective communicators.
