Why study Sociology at CCC?

Sociology and the sociological perspective are powerful tools to critically analyze and understand contemporary society at the local, regional, national, and global levels. Sociology’s subject matter is very broad allowing for the study of anything (social patterns, trends, phenomenon and issues) from the large institutional level to the intimate personal level. Course offerings emphasize social justice, multicultural, gender and class issues in the U.S. and globally. Transfers can major or minor in sociology at the CSU.
