Black & African American Student Engagement (BAASE)

The purpose of the Black/African-American Student Engagement Program (BAASE) is to ensure ALL Black/African-American students thrive while attending Clovis Community College. This initiative focuses directly on supporting and uplifting students by providing the necessary resources that help students achieve their educational goals. BAASE hosts events and activities throughout the academic year to help build a sense of belonging and community.

BAASE Program Overview

• Meet with the Black Student Success Counselor to develop a Student Education Plan (SEP) once a semester.
• Connect with a Student Success Coach (or BAASE Check-in) once a semester
• Participate in at least two BAASE-sponsored activities
• Engage with CCC campus-sponsored resources, student services, or academic support services (tutoring, mentoring, etc.)
• Garunteed transfer to certain HBCUs depending on academic standing.

Clovis Community College students with a GPA of 2.0 or higher are guaranteed admission to all partner HBCU institutions. Students who transfer from CCC also may be eligible for a grant of up to $5,000.
