Library Newsletter - April 2025
April is the time to rhyme (or not)
The Academy of American Poets established April as National Poetry Month in 1996 to promote reading poetry, support poets, and share poetry. Come join the celebration in the library. On April 3rd from 4 – 5:00 pm, listen to the creative poetry of our talented CCC students. On April 6th from 5 – 6:00 pm, award-winning poet Carlos Andrés Gómez will teach a generative writing workshop on reclaiming language, asserting authentic identities, and dismantling narratives tied to structural oppression and shame. Try your hand at “Blackout Poetry” on the main library display throughout the month. Don’t have time to stop by the library? Comb through our Library Poetry Guide to find the perfect poet for you.
