This exhibit looks at the Black experience through the individual experiences of 5 Black artists, while exploring ideas of status, racism, discrimination, spirituality, family traditions, and social justice.
The exhibit opens on February 1st and will run through the rest of the month.

Facilitators will guide participants in learning songs, rhythms, and beginner techniques of the djembe drum. Drums will be provided! |

Participants have 5 minutes to read from literary work by a Black author or writer. You can read a favorite poem or multiple poems, an excerpt from an essay or article, music lyrics, a short story, or even something from a children’s book. |
Black Professionals Career Panel | 2/23/2023 | 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm | Clovis Community College, AC1-150 | This career panel will feature 5 local black professionals in law, tech, entrepreneurship, health, and media/entertainment! Students will have the opportunity to listen to panelists talk about their journeys, and how they navigate the corporate environment and receive career advice. |
San Francisco Day Trip – Museum of African Diaspora | 2/24/2023 | 6:30 am - 7:00 pm | San Francisco, CA | Join us as we aspire for excellence and honor Black History Month with a day trip to San Francisco to visit the Museum of African Diaspora and take a campus tour of San Francisco State University. We have space for 30 CCC students to participate. Please use the SF trip sign-up form to reserve your spot. Admission, transportation, and lunch will be provided.
