5th Annual African American Read-In

The National African American Read-In is the nation’s first and oldest event dedicated to diversity in literature. Participants have 5 minutes to read from literary work by a Black author or writer. You can read a favorite poem or poems, an excerpt from an essay or article, music lyrics, a short story, or even something from a children’s book.

February is Black History Month

All are welcome

Events at Clovis Community College are free and open to the public. Free parking in Student stalls only.

Guest Facilitator, Dr. Francine Oputa, will lead a discussion on race, power, and gender roles using themes from the movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” along with a closing ceremony honoring Black History Month and making a way into Women’s “Herstory” Month.
