Yaneth Perez-Rodriguez
My name is Yaneth Perez-Rodriguez. I’m a third-year student here at Clovis Community and am majoring in biology. Before taking Bio-12, I had my heart set on going to medical school but now I’m considering going into research. I currently work in the medical field and love everything about human biology. The research I’ve done and read about has helped deepen my understanding of it.
Yaní Treviño
My name is Yaní Treviño and I am a third-year biology major at Clovis Community College. Taking Bio12 introduced me to a side of science I had never previously known. Learning about an organism's genome is quite literally like stepping into a whole other world. The class gave me hope for the future of medicine. Soon personalized medicine will be created to treat people based on their own genetic profile. I hope to be able to contribute to this shift in the near future. Bio12 gave me the foundation I needed to pursue such a career.
Shamoun Alex Divanyan
My name is Shamoun Alex Divanyan, and I am a second-year student enrolled as a Biochemistry Major at Clovis Community College. I have always had eyes my deadest on progressing to a career in health care and medicine, while also primarily focusing on learning more about human physiology and Genomics. However, after partaking in Biology-12 over Summer 2022, I had been introduced to a new perspective and "world" that can greatly affect modern medicine as a whole. While we primarily focused on the genomic data of animals, I was shown the grand scale of untapped potential hidden away in our very own DNA; By furthering our own understanding of the very 'code' that makes up every one of us, the future of healthcare knows no bounds. I for one, cannot wait to further my research and perhaps contribute to that future.
