Project Background

In 2016, Measure C passed with overwhelming support bringing new and modernized buildings to all State Center Community College District colleges and centers.

Seals Construction was awarded the contract to build the facility and Darden Architects designed the building. The project is scheduled for completion during the fall of 2023. The Applied Technology Building will be 68,500 square feet and cost about $45 million to build and is expected to be finished in the late Fall of 2023.

Various CTE (Career Technology Education) programs will be housed in the state-of-the-art building including mechatronics, occupational therapy assistance, and digital and commercial music. It will also house large group instruction classes, faculty and administration offices, student study spaces, lecture classrooms, and meeting rooms.

Applied Technology Building: Phase I

Architect interviews were conducted in September by a committee of District and Clovis Community College staff and faculty. Darden Architects was selected out of the four architect firms interviewed.
