Disaster Relief Emergency Grant
Senate Bill 116 made available local assistance funds, originally available for the California Dreamer Service Incentive Grant program, to be used to provide disaster relief emergency student financial aid to California community college students.
Eligibility was based on demonstrated financial need, exempt from paying nonresident tuition, and having completed the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) or California College Promise Grant (CCPG) Application.
Clovis Community College was allocated a total of $63,472, which was provided to 27 students in February 2021 with awards ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 depending on enrollment status.
SB85 – 2021 Immediate Action Budget Package
Senate Bill 85, also known as the Emergency Financial Assistance to Low-Income Community College Students allowed Clovis to provide grants to students who met the following eligibility criteria:
- California resident or exempt from paying nonresident tuition
- Currently enrolled in 6 units
- Demonstrate an emergency financial aid need
- Qualify as low income by meeting requirements to receive a California College Promise Grant (CCPG)
- Earned 2.0 GPA or receiving Services through DS program
Clovis Community College was allocated $668,983, which was provided to 929 students in May 2021 with awards ranging from $325 to $700 depending on enrollment status.
