Degree Completion Requirements
The Associate in Science Degree, Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) is achieved with the successful completion of the OTA program requirements.
Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate in Science Degree
The degree requirements include:
- Completion of General Education coursework
- Completion of OTA program Pre-requisite courses
- Completion of OTA program courses
- Must pass with a grade of “C” or better per OTA program grading guidelines
- Completion of Level I Fieldwork requirements
- Integrated with didactic coursework
- Completion of Level II Fieldwork requirements
- Two (2) eight-week, full-time (40 hours per week) of Level II fieldwork rotations
The OTA Program is completed in 16 months with continuous attendance for three semesters and one summer session. Courses are scheduled sequentially and must be completed in the designated order.
Graduation Requirements:
A candidate for an Associate in Science Degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting must fulfill all degree requirements. Students must file an application for a degree; Application deadlines are listed in the academic calendar within the catalog and noted on the college website. Graduation ceremonies for degree candidates are held at the end of the spring semester each year. Diplomas will be dated at the end of the semester or summer session in which requirements are met.
