Liberal Studies is one of the largest majors at Fresno State. The purpose of the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies program is to provide a solid multidisciplinary preparation in the Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences, Human Development, and the Arts. Because it is interdisciplinary, it is especially beneficial for future elementary school teachers who are required to teach all subjects.

The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing serves as a state standards board for educator preparation for the public schools of California, the licensing and credentialing of professional educators in the State, the enforcement of professional practices of educators, and the discipline of credential holders in the State of California.
Fresno County Office of Education | Credentials Department
The Fresno County Superintendent of Schools serves as the local agency approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) to provide support to school districts, employees, and applicants with credential/permit processing, CTC fingerprinting, Assignment Monitoring and Reporting, Credential Records Management and District Staff Training.
