Office of Administrative Services Update - October 2024
Update from Interim Vice President, Kim Duong
It’s amazing that October has come and gone already! It has been another busy month.
This month, I attended the Clovis Unified Annual State of the District, the State Center Community College Foundation Chancellor’s Circle Annual Event, the AC3 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, and the Marjaree Mason Center Top 10 Luncheon.
I also had the opportunity to tour the United Health Centers Administration office and one of their health facilities with Kira and James. We learned about the services UHC offers and discussed opportunities.
I ended the month attending the ACBO Fall 2024 Conference where CBOs from around the California Community Colleges and Districts come together to learn the latest skills and strategies that help us stay successful in our roles. The conference ended with an update from the School Services of California Inc., CCLC, and the State Chancellor’s Office that highlighted a multitude of topics related to budget and legislative matters.
AC-3 Updates:
General items
The contractors are still working through the to-do list. I met with both our building contractors and furniture contractor near the end of October to make sure items are completed and nothing falls through the cracks.
Parking Lot J
As most are aware, we were able to gain access back to parking lot J behind AC-3 at the beginning of October. During the last week of the month the contractor’s Connex boxes were moved out allowing us full use of the parking lot. We were able to get staff spots designated in lot J this month too.
Clocks
All but one of the clocks inside the AC-3 building have been fixed and are showing the correct time. We are working on a potential solution for the clock in AC3-104 too.
Please continue to email me if there are any issues you discover around AC-3 and I will work with the contractors.
Staffing Updates:
Administrative Services
We welcomed Susan Jones as our newest Executive Assistant. I am excited to have her join our Clovis Crush Family!
Business Office
We also said “see you later” to Judson Ervin as he takes on a temporary position at one of our sister colleges. I would also like to welcome Ashley Reyes to our Business Office! Today is her first day. She comes to us from the Madera Community College Business Office. We are happy to have her join our team!
