Dr. Chahal was appointed to serve as the Interim Vice President of Clovis Community College on August 6, 2024. She is responsible for leadership, budget oversight, and supervision of California’s 113th community college, which is a TOP transfer college in California and serves over 15,550 students annually.

Kira serves as the Vice President of Student Services where she oversees 125 full-time and part-time classified professionals, faculty, and managers. She is responsible for a budget of over $28 million in grants and $4.5 million in general funds. Kira works collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure holistic safety and support for students.
Dr. Ortez has been with the Clovis family since 2017 serving as the first permanent Dean of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Athletics for the College. He has over three decades of equity-driven higher education leadership and administrative experience. Prior to CCC, he was a founding member of UC Merced, where he served as the first Assistant and Associate Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. He is a student-centered, equity-driven educator who thrives on empowering students, faculty, and staff to be creative and break down barriers.
