Budget Update

On April 5, the colleges received our Tentative Budget allocation from the District Office. Our allocation for the unrestricted general fund is $37,820,885 which is approximately $200,000 less than the current budget for 2023-24. After we were given our allocation, we received a memo from the chancellor advising CCC that we had received three new faculty positions and one classified. The classified position is an Evaluator. We will receive an increase in the final budget to cover these positions.

The May Revision to the Governor’s Proposed Budget based upon the latest economic forecasts will be released in mid-May and we will have better information to prepare the final budget.

Staffing

We recently were able to fill a position that has been vacant in our department for several months. We have hired Darne King as our Permanent Part-Time Budget Technician. Darne comes to Clovis Community College with experience in administrative duties, contracts and accounting and has experience working in the private school sector. He will be helping us with Child Development Lab School billing, grant accounting and travel and conference processing.

CPR/AED Training

On Friday, April 26, we had a CPR/AED Training. Thirteen individuals were trained. This training was for Basic Adult CPR. Over the summer, we will have Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED training. This training was requested by our Child Development Lab School, but others can attend. Please send me an email if you are interested in this training.

Thank you.
