Clovis Community College Student, Mayra Zamudio, is honored to receive the Dr. Tom Crow Distinguished Student Scholarship.
The Dr. Tom Crow Distinguished Student Scholarship (Osher) was established in honor of former Chancellor, Dr. Tom Crow, and was made possible by State Center Community College Foundation Board of Directors, and the Bernard Osher Endowment for Community Colleges, and generous donations from the community.
Dr. Crow served as Chancellor of State Center Community College District from 2003 to 2010. He was admired for his quest of academic excellence, outstanding leadership, and service to the district and to the community. The Dr. Tom Crow Distinguished Student Scholarship (Osher) is intended to recognize a student attending any of the colleges or centers of State Center Community College District (SCCCD) who best exemplifies these qualities. Any SCCCD employee, may nominate a student.
Congratulations to Mayra Zamudio, who will be awarded a $1200 scholarship. Mayra is a computer science and electrical engineering major and plans to transfer to UC Berkeley and work as an electrical engineer. She is a true inspiration to us all, especially her daughter Desmie. Mayra works as a student aid in the CCC Public Information Office assisting with various website projects.
