Read and see the creativity of our talented student poets this National Poetry Month in the AC1 Lobby Gallery as we showcase students’ poetry and their artistry of the written word.

Writing Workshop

Join Carlos Andrés Gómez (International Book Award-winning author, poet, and educator) for this generative writing workshop that explores ways to reclaim language as it intersects with asserting our authentic identities and stories while dismantling narratives tied to structural oppression and shame. Carlos will facilitate close readings of poems by Angel Nafis and José Olivarez and then guide participants through a structured prompt to write their own poems of reclamation.

Poetry Reading

Join us for an evening reading with Carlos Andrés Gómez. Carlos Andrés Gómez is a Colombian American poet, speaker, actor, and educator from New York City.

Willow Poetry Reading Series

Celebrate National Poetry Month with award-winning poets and acclaimed writers Lee Herrick, Mai Der Vang, and Rajiv Mohabir. Join us for a poetry reading, Q&A, and meet the poets after the event. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served before the event.
