Clovis Community College’s MESA program produces a diverse population of successful transfer-ready students to advance their STEM educational journeys into 4-year university programs. The MESA program supports STEM students in completion of their associate degrees and transfer to a 4-year university of their choice. Our program promotes diversity by empowering historically underrepresented groups to pursue STEM degrees and professional careers. We offer resources for students such as tutoring, free book and technology loans, academic coaching, workshops, application assistance, field trips, and ample professional development. All students are welcome to use free STEM tutoring services in our MESA Center!

FAQs

Founded more than 50 years ago, the California Community College Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Programs support underserved and underrepresented students majoring in calculus-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields who seek to transfer to four-year institutions.

Certain criteria must be met to officially enroll as a MESA student scholar (see the criteria outlined at the top of this page). Submit your student interest form to meet with the Director to see if you qualify for MESA! All STEM students are welcome to use the tutoring services we provide at the MESA Center and participate in the club, even if you don’t qualify for MESA.

The MESA Center will be opening on campus soon, and it will be a place for students in STEM majors to study, hang out, and receive academic support for free. We will have our own academic counselor for MESA students, STEM tutors, course workshops (Academic Excellence Workshops), textbooks and tech (laptops, iPads, apple pencils, bluetooth keyboards) to borrow for the semester, club meetings, research opportunities, and a variety of field trips such as conferences, UC/CSU visits, medical school tours, and more! Apply now and stay tuned for updates!
