Commencement is on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. outdoors on campus.

Steps to Participate

Clovis Community College will hold a commencement ceremony for Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 graduates on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. outdoors on campus. Your name will be announced as you walk across the stage to receive your diploma tube and your photo will be taken which will be available after graduation. 

Graduates will need to have these items completed to participate in the ceremony. Any deadlines listed below are subject to change – check your SCCCD student email regularly for important notifications.

Step 1: Apply for your degree/certificate

  • Apply online in self-service
  • Degrees and certificates will be mailed to the address listed in self-service

A candidate for an Associate in Arts Degree, Associate in Science Degree, Associate in Arts for Transfer Degree, Associate in Science for Transfer Degree, Certificate of Achievement, Certificate in, or a Certificate of Completion must file a graduation application for the degree or certificate. Associate Degrees/Certificates are not granted automatically when students complete the requirements. Failure to apply before the final deadline will delay the granting of the degree/certificate to the end of the next term.

To apply for degree/certificate completion, students will log into Self-Service and click on “Apply for Degree/Certificate” from the Academics tab. If you are eligible for more than one degree, you can select ‘Back to Programs of Study’ to apply for additional degrees or certificates, if applicable. If you do not see the certificate or degree program you intend to apply for in Self-Service, drop in to meet with a counselor to obtain assistance with adding the program and to review your degree progress.

If you completed coursework at another college or have Advanced Placement or other exam credit that you would like to be considered in the evaluation of your degree/certificate at CCC, you must provide an official transcript and/or an official exam score reports prior to being evaluated for the degree/certificate. Degree/certificate completion requirements will be verified at the end of the term once final grades have been posted.

Diplomas and certificates are mailed to successful graduates approximately sixty business days from the last day of the term the degree or certificate is conferred.

Semester of completion Fall 2023 - October 1
Semester of completion Spring 2024 - March 1
Semester of completion Summer 2024 - July 1

Step 2: Confirm your RSVP to the commencement ceremony

After the March 1st degree/certificate deadline, an email will be sent to eligible students with RSVP information. If you have questions regarding the RSVP email, contact the Admissions & Records Office at 559-325-5200 to check your eligibility. If you have a physical disability that you feel may make it difficult to participate, please use the accommodations section on the RSVP and contact the Disabled Students Programs and Services Office at 559-325-5349 for assistance. If you have questions, please call the Student Center at 559-325-5235.

Note: Students that apply for degree/certificate completion after March 1 will be considered as Summer 2024 completion. These applicants will still be invited to the Spring 2024 commencement ceremony.

Step 3: Purchase your cap and gown

Caps, gowns, and tassels are now available for purchase at the Clovis Community College Bookstore on campus, or order regalia online. Quantities on hand of each size are limited, so make sure to purchase your regalia early to ensure what you need is in stock. The deadline to purchase/pick-up regalia from the Bookstore is Thursday, May 16th. If you need assistance with purchasing a cap and gown, please contact the Bookstore at 2173mgr@follett.com or call 559-325-5253.

CCC graduation stoles are available for purchase through the bookstore or may be available through certain student programs. Only college-approved stoles and tassels are allowed to be worn during the ceremony. Please see the Commencement FAQs for more information.
