Upon successful completion of the Associate in Arts in Anthropology for Transfer Degree, students will be able to:
- Analyze and evaluate complex current social and cultural issues in Anthropology.
- Demonstrate an understanding of major theoretical perspectives, concepts, and research findings in Anthropology and the nature of the scientific inquiry.
- Demonstrate an understanding of biological and cultural developments that affects human behaviors and shape human experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding of anthropological analysis of organized society and the ethical implications and outcomes of gathering data.
- Critically evaluate the essential methods and tools of Anthropology.
- Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including both of the following:
- The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or the California State University General Education ā Breadth requirements.
- A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district.
- Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADTs) also require that students must earn a āCā grade or better in all courses required for the major or area of emphasis.
- Certification of either the California State University General Education Breadth (CSU GE-Breadth) or the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC-CSU version) is required. CSU GE-Breadth and IGETC advising sheets are available in Student Services, AC2-133 or online at CCC GE(CSU/UC) GE and Major Sheets
- Courses may double count in the major and CSU GE-Breadth or IGETC.
